New regulation of fixed and mobile call termination

As of July 1st, the ACM, the Dutch Authority of Consumers and Markets, has changed the rate of fixed and mobile call termination.

“Toelichting bij de Eurorate” is a presentation by the ACM that was given to various parties at the beginning of June. On page 7 you can see that SDH/TDM interconnection and IP interconnection are now included in the traffic tariffs (FTA/MTA).

“Delegated Regulation FAQ” is a document of the European Commission. On page 2, point 3 you can read: “Interconnection ports are part of the termination service thus their costs are covered by the termination rates. The main cost elements covered are building, modification, and decommissioning of a port.” On the basis of this, ACM had adjusted the cost table for interconnections, see update 14 tariffs for interconnection FTA MTA Decree. So no port or hosting costs can be charged for interconnection.
